Drexel Woodson Contributes to Edited Volume

Cambridge University Press has release the edited volume, "Questioning Collapse: Human Resilience, Ecological Vulnerability, and the Aftermath of Empire." Drexel Woodson's contribution is entitled, "'Failed' states, societal 'collapse,' and ecological 'disaster':  a Haitian Lesson on Grand Theory." Patricia A. McAnany and Norman Yoffee edited the volume and some may recall that Norm Yoffee was a member of the UA Anthropology faculty from 1972 to 1994.

Questioning Collapse challenges those scholars and popular writers who advance the thesis that societies - past and present - collapse because of behavior that destroyed their environments or because of overpopulation.
